Micro-CT/XRM

Lab unit & Contact: Porous Media Lab

Micro-CT/XRM (Micro-Computed Tomography Scanner):
The system reconstructs cross-sectional images from projection data, allowing quantitative analysis such as porosity, particle size distribution, internal defects, and material density variations.

Device type: Micro-Computed Tomography (Micro-CT) Scanner (Micro-CT/XRM
Manufacturer: Bruker
Analysis: Non-destructive 3D imaging and analysis of internal structures using X-ray computed tomography.
Sample type: 1. Solid materials (e.g., powders, granular media, rocks, composites, soil, sand, battery, …)
2. Porous / multiphase materials for example: Foam, filters
3. Semi-solid / soft materials (with limitations : Gels, Biological tissues, Food samples
4. Liquids (limited use)
Sample amount: single soil grain – column sample (h=300 mm x d=100mm)
Sample preparation: minimal preparation required; sample needs to be fixed
Location: VMB 2.20
