Facility Access & Services
Our primary objective is to expand our knowledge by acquiring high quality data. Typically, we do this through scientific collaborations. However, we can also provide NanoSIMS measurements as a service with no scientific involvement.
There are three options to apply for access to our NanoSIMS facility:
- Through a national funding scheme, EPOS-NL (costs covered)
- Through an international funding scheme, EXCITE (costs covered)
- Using funds available in your project (use this application form)*
*Before sending us the application form, please ensure that you fill out the correct and complete billing details. After we receive your application, we will assess the objectives and feasibility of the NanoSIMS analysis. Shortly afterwards, we will send you an offer with possible time slots and costs for the anticipated analysis.
In additional to NanoSIMS measurements, we also offer other, related services:
- We use the Look@NanoSIMS software to process and analyze NanoSIMS data. Read more on the Look@NanoSIMS software
- We perform preliminary analysis of the acquired NanoSIMS data as part of a routine quality control. More thorough processing and analysis of the NanoSIMS data should be done by the end user. To facilitate this process, we offer training in the Look@NanoSIMS software. Please reach out to us if you want to receive such training.
- Services linked to sample preparation are offered through other facilities at Utrecht University, such as other lab units in the GeoLab. They may involve additional costs. Read more on sample requirements & preparations.
